My name is Matt. My fitness journey began after high school after securing a summer job. I started as a front desk assistant at a gym in 2008 before converting to a Level 1 trainer after three months. Within six months, I obtained a certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) which is one of the most acclaimed certifications a fitness professional can possess. Over the coarse of the next 10 years, I helped individuals reach their fitness goals through diet and exercise.
My love for fitness came from personal loss. My grandfather passed away from complications with diabetes. Since I came from a family with a history of diabetes, I told myself I wanted to do everything possible to prevent such a diagnosis. I played sports growing up, but I lost sight of my goal. Gaining weight put exercise and fitness back into my life and allowed me to learn while teaching my clients fitness for a healthy lifestyle.
